Are side reflectors mandatory on two-wheeled vehicles?
According to a UNECE regulation, side reflectors are a requirement for registering a motorcycle. If the reflectors are no longer present, the registration of the motorcycle will therefore expire.
What regulations must be observed when installing side reflectors?
The fork reflectors must have an E-mark (our fork reflectors all have an E-mark). The fork reflectors must be attached at a height between 30cm and 90cm.
The reflectors must be visible vertically at an angle of 15 degrees and horizontally at an angle of 30 degrees.
The lateral fork reflectors must be yellow according to EC/EU.
Attaching lateral fork reflectors to the motorcycle
The most important thing to do before mounting is to clean the
surfaces to be glued. These must be absolutely free of dust and
grease.
Measure the area where the reflector is to be placed and mark
it with an adhesive strip if necessary. The fork reflectors
should be attached at the same height on both sides (between
30cm and 90cm).
For our fork reflectors, we use only the best adhesive you can
find: 3M adhesive pads. These guarantee that the fork
reflectors will hold well for a long time. To mount, carefully
peel back the protective backing from the 3M adhesive tape.
